The automated resin-infusion process produces a more uniform hull thickness from one hull to the next, as well as the most ideal glass-to-resin ratio. This one-two punch produces a boat that weighs significantly less because of the lowered resin content, while providing a more precise fit of bulkheads, stringers and other components for increased strength and durability.

Owners can access the open flybridge from either the aft deck or the galley. The 174-square-foot deck features a centerline helm station and two adjustable helm chairs from Pompanette. If you haven't sea trialed a Hatteras lately, you may be in for a surprise on your next run. Thanks to her precise tunnel hull design and other performance enhancements, the 50 Convertible attains 39-plus knots with a pair of 1,400-hp Caterpillar 3412E engines. She cruises at a comfortable 35 knots.

Like all Hatteras yachts, the 50 Convertible attains high speeds without sacrificing her soft ride or rock-solid hull. Hatteras hulls are hand-laid with solid fiberglass and vinylester resins to provide impact resistance while eliminating the potential for core separation in this crucial area. A network of interlocking vacuum-bagged composite bulkheads and foam-core fiberglass stringers support the solid glass bottom.

Captains will appreciate the clear visibility from the helm. The view of the bow is unobstructed, and the entire aft cockpit remains in view even from a seated position. The extended cockpit overhang provides crew with plenty of protection from the sun and gives the captain room to work behind the standard Murray Products helm chairs.

On the helm console, a recessed box houses a standard suite of electronics that includes VHF, autopilot, depth sounder and chart plotter. Standard electronic single-lever controls and a pod-style helm give the 50 a custom feel. While the 54 Convertible makes for an excellent platform for cruising enthusiasts, this boat was designed first and foremost to please offshore anglers.

The 126-square-foot cockpit features a mezzanine deck with raised seating to keep the crew comfortable and provide improved visibility of baits in the spread. Underneath those cushions lies storage for gear, bait, ice and tackle, as well as a centerline access hatch to the engine room below. Hatteras Yachts is pleased to announce an exciting new product that solidifies this legendary boat builder's position as the industry leader in high-tech sportfish design. Featuring a mezzanine cockpit, lightweight construction, tumblehome curvature in the hullsides and an exciting new tournament edition option, the Hatteras 60 Convertible is unlike any production boat in the marketplace today.

From the beginning of this model's design process, the Hatteras product development team has focused squarely on performance and fishability as top priorities. As such, the new 60 Convertible represents a paradigm shift for the company. Built in Hatteras' new facility in Swansboro, North Carolina, the 60 will be one of the only fiberglass production boats to feature tumblehome in the hullsides. It will also be the first Hatteras to feature a completely resin-infused hull, rather than one built up of layers of hand-laid fiberglass. The automated resin-infusion process produces a more uniform hull thickness from one hull to the next, as well as the most ideal glass-to-resin ratio. This one-two punch produces a boat that weighs significantly less because of the lowered resin content, while providing a more precise fit of bulkheads, stringers and other components for increased strength and durability.

For the hard-core fishermen, the Hatteras 60 will also be available in a 60GT TOURNAMENT EDITION. This three-stateroom two-head package includes an engine upgrade to 1,800 hp, custom hull color and a wraparound windshield styling element. Owners of the GT TOURNAMENT EDITION will achieve a top end of 40 knots and a cruise of 35+ knots at 2000 rpm. Combine this performance package with custom bow rails and optional Carolina Edition teak package, and you'll have a boat that will sit proud at any tournament.


The 60 Convertible's cockpit benefits greatly from the boat's wide 19-foot beam, as well as a raised mezzanine level that offers cushioned seating for improved visibility aft.

The standard arrangement on the upper mezzanine deck includes a freezer outboard next to the centerline engine room access. Just behind the bridge ladder to starboard are two tackle drawers hidden behind a drop-down door. On the lower mezzanine level, a single large icebox to port is sized perfectly to house a professional-grade bait tray. To starboard is a large ice collection bin. Within the radius steps you'll find a large refrigerated drink box and wet storage compartments for mop heads and chamois. Two massive fish boxes are located longitudinally in the cockpit sole. The cockpit is finished to the highest level, thanks to side cockpit scuppers that drain through the quarter-fenders and curved doors that hide the twin 50-amp inlets and quick disconnects for fresh and saltwater wash-downs. The engine room features a similar attention to detail, thanks to its clean layout and faired surface for a true wipe-and-go finish.

On the bridge, a large console features a pod-style helm with an actuated console to keep electronics safe from the elements when not in use. Just forward of the console is an insulated drink cooler as well as an optional freezer. Ample rod storage is available beneath the forward and starboard lounge seats. Murray Products Sea 19 teak helm chairs are standard, as are back-up controls beneath the helm should an emergency arise.




The new 60 Convertible features a luxurious salon with a comfortable L-shaped sofa with rod storage beneath, as well as an entertainment center with 42-inch plasma TV. Genuine wood veneers in either a high-gloss or satin finish provide a warm environment, complemented perfectly by any of the 15 standard décor schemes available from Hatteras' in-house design team. To provide convenience for the crew, the electrical distribution panel is located just inside the sliding door, easily accessed from the cockpit.

The galley features two under-counter Sub-Zero refrigerator/freezer units, with a third unit available as an option. A four-burner ceramic cooktop and microwave/convection oven provide plenty of food preparation options, while deep storage drawers in the galley's fascia offer an abundance of space. Amtico strip flooring and solid-surface countertops and backsplashes give the galley an elegant look with long-lasting durability. To starboard, a large dinette features an L-shaped lounge with storage underneath. The dining table features a solid-surface top with decorative pedestal.

Belowdecks, the 60 is configured with three staterooms and two private heads, providing for ample storage for the rugged sportfishing enthusiast. Overnight tournament fishermen will appreciate the optional bow stateroom that utilizes crisscrossing bunks to maximize sleeping capacity in this 3/2 arrangement. Those who value added interior amenities can opt for a more traditional three-stateroom three-head arrangement. A four-stateroom layout is also available.

The athwartship master stateroom is equipped with an oversized queen berth and a 20-inch LCD TV. Nightstands on either side provide storage, as does a full dresser forward of the stateroom. Twin cedar-lined hanging lockers are accessible aft of the stateroom and provide additional sound insulation from the engine room. The 64 features a forced air induction system that virtually eliminates saltwater intrusion into the engine compartment, and increases space outboard of the engines. The 64 Convertible's Cockpit is a full 164 square feet, loaded with features and conveniences to enhance the fishing experience. Like its 68-foot sistership, the 64's cockpit features a mezzanine level to keep the crew comfortable and alert. Inside the mezzanine is expansive freezer and storage space; its modular design allows owners to choose their mix of freezers, livewells and insulated storage tubs.

Under the top step, an 82-quart, refrigerated step box keeps refreshments chilled. Immediately to starboard lies an additional mezzanine seat with two tackle drawers underneath. Two 18-gallon storage tubs are positioned on the bottom mezzanine level, while two bins in the lower steps provide wet storage for mop heads, brushes and chamois. To the left and right of the optional fighting chair, two in-deck 62-inch fish boxes are positioned longitudinally to prevent damage to fish that can occur in transverse boxes.

The cockpit also positions concealed shore power outlets inside the forward corners, along with side scuppers that drain discreetly through the quarter fenders - all contributing to a smooth, seamless finish.

The huge, 186-square foot flybridge is laid out for optimum control and comfort. Two helm chairs front a pod-style helm with single-lever electronic controls. Flat-screen electronics displays and the computer-based systems monitor are housed in a pneumatically controlled console.

Wrap-around seating conceals rod storage, and to starboard, a rear-facing jump seat sits atop an insulated refreshment box. Forward of the seat lies optional freezer storage for extended voyages. An optional enclosed bridge arrangement is also available.




With more than 150 square feet of area, the salon exudes the warmth of genuine American black cherry paneling, pre-filled and finished in high gloss or satin. To port, a custom L-shaped sofa provides ample storage underneath. To starboard, a 42-inch plasma TV with surround-sound can fill the salon with entertainment. Linear valences distribute cooled air evenly throughout salon and galley, without the hot and cold spots associated with overhead vents.

One step up from the salon, the 64's galley features solid-surface countertops, under-counter refrigeration, a four-burner ceramic cook top, garbage disposal and microwave convection oven. Opposite is a large dinette with solid-surface tabletop. Down below, the full-beam configuration of the master suite is more than just best-in-class. It offers an unparalleled 166 square feet of floor space - virtually identical to that of the 68 Convertible! Accessed through a private foyer flanked by a full 92-inch hanging locker, the master suite has more than enough room for a king-sized berth, twin nightstands, and dressers port and starboard - plus a 20-inch LCD TV. Two optional portlights admit light and provide a water-level view to either side. And, if the owner wishes, the master can be fitted with an optional desk, or a sofa substituted for one of the dressers.

At 74 square feet, the bow stateroom on the 64 Convertible is virtually identical to its counterpart on the 68. It can be fitted either with a standard queen-sized berth with storage underneath, or with an optional queen/twin upper/lower arrangement. Two cedar-lined hanging lockers are included along with ample drawer and cabinet space along the hullsides.

The port stateroom is fitted with twin berths, along with a hanging locker, hull-side storage and nightstand as standard. A queen size berth with storage beneath is optional.

Finally, by foregoing the foyer entrance to the master suite, an owner can specify an optional fourth stateroom, fitted with upper and lower berths and private access to the head.
