CABO YACHT 35 EXPRESS

Created by the boat building team of Henry Mohrschladt and Michael Howarth, the same craftsman selected by Fortune Magazine for building one of the top 100 products in the world, the Cabo 35 Express is a benchmark in design, construction and performance. And if you think that's just another fish story, listen to what the experts - those seasoned professionals who earn their living on boats - have to say about the CABO 35 Express. You'll find them using words like seaworthy, fast, agile, accessible, and luxurious.

As an offshore powerboat racer, Dick Ornstein knows that it takes masterful blend of design and construction to achieve a high level of performance. When it came time to purchase a sportfisher for his personal use, he chose CABO for just those reasons. Opt for the turbo charged and after-cooler 435 hp (422 shaft hp) Caterpillar V-8 diesel, and the CABO 35 Express has a top speed of more than 40mph at 2750 rpm. Even more important in the real world, however, is that the CABO Express can eat up the miles at a comfortable cruising speed of 33 mph and still have a range of nearly 350 miles!* This combination of speed and range gets you to a far away fishing ground faster and allows you to stay longer than any comparable boat. Speed and cruising range are a major part of the performance equation, but serious fisherman want to know how the boat actually behaves. In a word, flawlessly. Whether you're backing down on a billfish, spinning to stay with tuna, or firewalling the throttles to head for new fishing grounds, the CABO 35 Express responds instantly to helm and engines.
*Based on Boating Magazine test #866.

Fishability
To pursue a new IGFA world record for marlin on 8lb test line, Pam Basco needed a boat that was fast and agile. Her choice? CABO 35, of course. The ability of the CABO 35 Express to back down fast and pivot nimbly can make the difference between boating a trophy fish or reeling in a broken line. And, because of her wide beam, modified-V bottom and low center of gravity, the CABO is a fighting platform with unequaled stability in all sea conditions. Serious anglers will appreciate the open space below the cockpit gunwales, which allows you to lock your knees comfortably under the padding while fighting a big fish. And if you need to get forward quickly, the wide non-skid decks are fully protected by the oversized (1-1/4" dia.) rail that surrounds the foredeck.

Some boats raise fish and some boats just can't, but the success of the CABO 35 Express speaks for itself. The ability to provide clean, strait alleys for trolling lures can greatly improve the number of strikes you get. And the CABO hull design, with two small propeller pockets and clean underwater lines, gives two perfect blue trolling alley directly behind the boat. Your lures will run strait and clean in a tantalizing spot, even when turning. Every carefully planned feature of the CABO 35 Express, from built in casting to hold on the bow to the perfect blue trolling alleys, will help you raise that record fish.

Exterior
The innovative hull design of the CABO 35 Express gives wider stance to the placement of the powerplant, giving maneuverability to the CABO 35 that is simply unheard of in other boats. This well balanced hull not only jumps onto plane instantly, but also provides an extraordinarily stable platform when loafing along at trolling speeds. With a fine bow and 16 degrees of deadrise at the transom, the CABO 35 Express runs easily in choppy seas. even when lying broadside to swells, the wide reversed double chines dampen the roll and give the CABO an easy motion.

The goal of the CABO team sounds deceptively simple: "To produce the best engineered and best built boat in the world." And, with the CABO 35 Express, their success at reaching that level is evident in every detail. Using the finest materials and uncompromising methods, dedicated craftsmen have created a yacht that outperforms, outlasts, and is more comfortable that the competition.

The CABO 35 Express is at the leading edge of construction, and every material is the finest to be found. Careful thought has been given to creating an incredibly strong yet lightweight hull. The biaxial stitched fiberglass roving is bonded with vinylester resins that are not only 10% lighter and 15% stronger than conventional boatbuilding resins, but provide protection against osmotic blistering. The hull is solid fiberglass below the waterline for strength and low maintenance, while topsides and deck are a baltec-coated sandwich to reduce weight and provide sound insulation.

Exterior, cont.
Adding even greater resistance to torsion and flexure is the CABO's highly sophisticated reinforced fiberglass interior module. Hull and interior are bonded into one monolithic structure, a method for superior to conventional techniques. You'll find the CABO 35 Express to be flawlessly fabricated and significantly quieter than other boats. Take time to study the effective non-skid deck pattern of the cockpit, and you'll find that it gives sure footing in all conditions without being overly abrasive.

Sight down the glossy hull sides and you'll see none of the usual bumps, dents, or finish flaws found on most boats. Consider the crisply molded deck and cockpit detailing, and you'll discover elegance that is a pleasure to touch. Superior design, uncompromising construction and rigid attention to every possible detail combine to create the CABO 35 Express.

Helm
The clean layout of the helm console on the CABO 35 Express allows more than ample room for today's sophisticated electronics. Clear, easy to read aircraft gauges and positive acting rocker switches insure that you will instantly know the exact state of your craft at a glance. From your vantage point at the helm, you'll appreciate perfect visibility in every direction. No other boat in this class can even come close to the fit, finish, and ease of use of the CABO 35 Express.

Cockpit
Unlike most builders, the team at CABO started with the cockpit, the most critical area for fishermen, and built the rest of the boat around it. With nearly 100 sq. ft. of fighting area, there's ample room to handle multiple hook-ups. The two five-foot long fish boxes not only have oversized drains, but macerators to quickly clear away debris. Each box is fully insulated, gasketed and securely latched against rattles. Drop the lid and it closes with a soft "whoomp" of air escaping from a perfectly fitted hatch. Each lid uses long piano hinges that are though-bolted for durability, and even the usual ankle-twisting drainage canals across the cockpit have been replaced by hidden drains under the deck. The transom door has massive hinges form durability and easy access for boating a big fish. The bait prep area at the forward end of the cockpit has all the space of those on much larger boats, with four deep tackle storage drawers, sink, rigging board, and even an ice box for cockpit convenience. Because a fisherman can never have too many "sticks," there's locking storage for 17 rods. With both fresh and saltwater washdowns, fishing aboard the CABO 35 Express is clean and comfortable.

Interior
Just because the CABO 35 Express is a sportfishing warwagon, doesn't mean it has to be Spartan. The comfortable interior, accented with golden teak, provides all the spacious warmth of a weekend getaway. Standard features include a head with shower, recessed electric cook-top stove, microwave/convection oven, refrigerator/freezer, Corian counters (with sea rails to keep plates from sliding), and ample storage for cruising. The forward cabin has a comfortable double berth, a bureau and settee, while the L-shaped lounge converts to upper/lower bunks. From the deep pile carpeting to the elegant recessed halogen lighting, the CABO 35 Express is both practical and luxurious.

Power Plant
To understand the precision engineering of the CABO 35 Express, you need to spend some time poking into all of the nooks that most builders would prefer you overlook. Every hose, wire bundle, and pipe is clearly labeled and rubber grommeted for chafe protection where is passes through a bulkhead.

All systems are meticulously segregated: electrical on one side, plumbing on the other, and service items like filters on the centerline. The fuel system is built to rigorous specifications, from the fuel tanks fabricated from expensive vinylester resins to the premium aviation style fuel fittings. Even normally hidden areas such as bilges and inside lockers, are ground and gelcoated for a smooth flawless finish. Below the waterline, all through-hull fittings and even the trim tabs have been recessed to reduce drag. Everything from the rudder posts to the fuel manifold system, is readily accessible and it's obvious that the CABO 35 Express has been designed, engineered, and built by people who have barked a few knuckles on less accessible boats. Attention to detail separates the CABO 35 Express from lesser vessels.

CABO YACHT 32 EXPRESS

CABO Yachts 32 Express represents the finest in hull design from Michael Peters Yacht Design, coupled with the renowned CABO execution of overall yacht design, engineering and construction.

The hull is remarkably balanced to provide a dry, smooth and fast ride. A balanced hull is the most difficult design aspect of any sportfisher under 35 feet. The proper balance allows the CABO 32 Express to ride high in waves, kick up less spray and move forward effortlessly.

The CABO 32 Express has a weight distribution similar to that of much larger boats. This allows the CABO 32 to track better, especially in following seas. The key is to move as much weight as possible aft. That delicate balance creates a superior sportfisher, one worthy of the CABO reputation for building the best production sportfishers in the world.

The interior is typical of the CABO Yachts standard of quality, Corian ® countertops, stainless closures, hasps and drawer pulls, finished hidden areas, ample rod storage, upgraded fabrics and materials - everything the discerning sportsman expects from a boat bearing the CABO Yachts name and reputation.

Of course, the CABO 32 is built with the same care and quality as that of the largest CABO - color-coded and labeled wiring, stainless steel hardware and more, as well as the meticulous attention to detail that comes with every CABO.

CABO Yachts designs and manufactures the world's most advanced sportfishing yachts and has a worldwide reputation for unmatched design, quality and performance.

CABO YACHT 40 FLYBRIDGE

The Cabo 40 Flybridge benefits from the uncanny ability of Cabo engineers to give a boat the ride of a much larger boat with the agility of a smaller vessel. Built on a hull designed by Michael Peters for the Cabo 40 Express, the 40 Flybridge is destined to be the fastest in the fleet of current sportfishermen in the 40-foot range.
Before your boat was put into production, did the builders run the boat with the steering disconnected? Did they add and remove running strakes? Or change chine angles? The majority of builders don't bother. Cabo does all of this and more to assure that its new models are introduced only when everything is right.

Before the first 40 hull ever hit the water, a scale model was tank tested. What did the engineers find? That the 40 hull ran a little faster with more strakes. So Cabo added strakes. They discovered that the least amount of spray hit the top-sides when the chines were molded at a 10 degree downward angle. So they altered the chines. And when the first hull was ready for testing, Cabo disconnected the steering at sea and allowed the rudders to set themselves- the best way to determine just how much toe-in or toe-out they need to achieve perfectly straight tracking. Net results? The 40 hull has proven to be fast, dry and comfortable and runs straight when you let go of the wheel.

Consistency
As with every boat ever built by Cabo Yachts, the engineering and construction are first class. Check out the wiring. It is labeled, color coded, more tightly loomed and rigidly organized than the wiring on any other boat you'll see. In fact, the 40 Express' wiring is the best of any production fishing boat on the water today. Look behind the dash on several different boats when you do the boat show circuit this year, you won't find a better setup.

Also, note the Cabo 40 Flybridge transom livewell. It has 16 separate water inlets going up the sides to eliminate dead spots. The dump valve is 2" and drains the well completely in minutes. And, of course, it's lighted.

Quality
As Cabo often says, quality is in the details and there is nearly an endless list of details that push the Cabo 40 ahead of the average sportfisherman. The locking pins securing the engine room ladder are triple the normal size. The instrument console can easily accommodate today's large screen electronics. The standard oil exchange system and all washdowns are fitted with quick disconnects. Raw-water intakes for the livewell and washdown have sea strainers. The custom made fiberglass fuel tank is glassed to the hull and deck. Shafts are 2" in diameter, the size usually found on 45' to 50' boats. The stovetop is recessed an inch so sliding pots won't end up on the galley sole. A crash pump fitted to the engine can evacuate up to 6,540 gph. Everywhere you look, above or below deck, you see detail, thought and flawless execution and soon you realize why Cabo has become the leading builder of offshore sportfishing boats in America.

CABO YACHT 40 EXPRESS

Destined to be the best Cabo yet
In 2002 the Cabo 40 Express became the newest offering from Cabo Yachts, joining an elite group of sportfishermen with an astonishing owner satisfaction rate of 98% , according to data from a 2002 National Marine Manufacturers Association Consumer Satisfaction survey. Among any product made, this level of consumer satisfaction is virtually unheard of strong testament to the commitment to quality and customer satisfaction that is an integral part of the Cabo Yachts philosophy. This same data shows quality, workmanship, hull design and dependability as the four most important attributes of Cabo Yachts.

What more could one ask for? Not just the next new Cabo, the development of the 40 Express was clearly an undertaking of very special circumstance. Before pen ever met paper, Cabo Yachts co-founder Mike Howarth clearly stated that the 40 Express was to be the best Cabo ever built. All evidence thus far points to success in meeting that goal.

Fish Time
The Cabo 40 Express is a full-on fishing machine, with over 100 square feet of cockpit - more than you'll find on any boat this size, and even many larger boats. Huge 5 foot fishboxes are located port and starboard, and equipped with in line macerators for trouble-free operation. An aft swinging transom door with top gate is mounted with massive custom built stainless steel hinges and door latch to withstand a lifetime of hard fishing.

Note that each of the 46 bolt heads on the door hardware is meticulously turned to the same angle - yet another example of the attention to detail that goes into every part of a Cabo Yacht.

Wide padded gunnels allow angle mounted rod holders and provide full foot room underneath to lock into that big fish. Side decks are wide enough for quick trips forward for bow casting bait on a tailing marlin or following a big tuna around the boat. The 40 Express is a very well thought out yacht, and the workmanship is Cabo all the way.

The Clear Leader
In the past decade, marine industry experts, the sportfishing press and professional anglers the world over have established Cabo Yachts as the leader in the design and manufacture of premium quality production yachts. Even the toughest critics in the industry have had nothing but praise for Cabo Yachts and the company's stubborn adherence to its founding principles and goal, to build the best sportfishing boats in the world. With this kind of acclaim, it's no wonder that for many, once the decision is made to buy, Cabo is so often the obvious, even the only choice.

Five Star Finish
Handcrafted woodwork throughout the boat is on par with what you'd find in the finest custom home. The galley is fully equipped for five star cuisine, or for just feeding a hungry crew. Corian countertops with sea rails, twin cooktops, convection microwave, refrigerator/freezer and under counter sinks are all functional and easy to clean at the end of the trip.

Space below deck offers comfort and room to relax at day's end. The starboard settee comfortably seats six and converts to an upper and lower berth. The master stateroom features a large island double berth with ample drawer and locker storage below. You can stow 10 rods in lockers located port and starboard, and the cedar lined hanging closet offers additional storage.

No other boat in the size range of the Cabo 40 Express even comes close. Compare in detail everything you see about a Cabo - design, engineering, performance and construction - to any other boat out there. If you find a better boat, we'd like to hear about it.

CABO YACHT 35 FLYBRIDGE

Cabo's first boat, the Cabo 35 Flybridge was introduced in 1991 and greeted with rave reviews. With over 200 now fishing the oceans of the world, she's one of the best selling boats in the Cabo line-up. In 1999 she was redesigned from the bottom up to incorporate improvements and new engineering geared towards better performance and greater access to what was already one of the best mechanical layouts in the business. Whatever aspect you're looking at, the quality of the Cabo 35 is obvious.

A ride like no other.
The Cabo 35 deep-V hull rides exceptionally soft in choppy head seas and is one of the driest running hulls in the business. Her impeccable hull is further separated from the competition when you consider the manufacturing process and materials. Lightweight and impermeable vinylester resins are used throughout. Stitched biaxial fiberglass roving further strengthens the hull without adding excess weight. State of the art coring materials are used where appropriate to reduce weight and to enhance performance, but never at the expense of Cabo's legendary strength. The result of Cabo's top quality, unmatched materials, unique design and meticulous manufacturing process is a hull without peer. Comfort and performance, muscle and agility, no other boat even comes close.

Life aboard.
Appointments, materials and craftsmanship are on par with that of the finest custom yachts. Teak woodwork throughout is elegant and durable. The salon provides the perfect environment for relaxing or entertaining in comfort. Five can dine comfortably at the starboard settee, and there is additional seating located portside, aft of the galley. There's easy access to storage beneath settees and behind bulkheads. Cabo knows that storage is precious on board and none is wasted. In the galley, even the most discerning chefs will appreciate Corian countertops, twin burners, large refrigerator, and convection microwave oven.

Understated luxury continues below in the spacious double cabin. A large, double island berth on centerline with easily accessed dry storage below puts many larger boats to shame. Two rod lockers forward conceal as many as 10 offshore rods with reels. A spacious head with separate stall shower adjoins the forward stateroom. Two additional single berths are located portside in the guest cabin.

Classically strong lines, uncompromising materials and construction and a selection of custom decor packages combine and balance to meet the needs of dedicated sport fishermen and yachtsmen who demand the construction and meticulous craftsmanship for which Cabo Yachts is so well known.

Designed by fishermen.
As with any Cabo, fishability is unsurpassed on the Cabo 35 Flybridge. Her cockpit measures 130 square feet, unheard of on a 35 footer. Its clean, simple layout easily accommodates four stand-up anglers.

Padded bolsters ring the cockpit for extra comfort when bringing in big fish. Tackle and rigging equipment are easily organized in the twelve custom built drawers at the two rigging stations, which are located over the engine boxes. Easily opened for quick engine access, these boxes double as comfortable seats for watching baits, relaxing while running out to the grounds or hanging on the hook after a long day. Port and starboard cabinets running nearly the length of the cockpit provide storage for gaffs and bait nets, leaving the cockpit clean and free of obstruction when fighting a fish. Two six cubic foot fish boxes equipped with macerators lay flush with the cockpit sole, and both fresh and saltwater wash downs are close at hand. A 50 gallon bait tank is located in the aft cap rail, minimizing intrusion into valuable cockpit space.

While on many boats the transom door is just that, a door. Cabo's transom door is a masterpiece of design and construction. Opening outward keeps the cockpit clear and the top bar operates independently of the door panel in order to provide safety for the angler and crew while bringing large fish aboard. Massive, custom built stainless steel hinges add beauty and long lasting durability surpassing that found on any other comparable yacht.

The flybridge features a tournament style configuration, with aft situated helm chair and controls, allowing the captain 360 degree visibility, including an unobstructed view of the angler. When the fish moves off the corner, the responsive handling of the Cabo 35 will get you to the fish quickly. Comfortably seating five, the flybridge features a padded bench seat forward of the console with a large storage locker below. The engine instrumentation cluster is centrally located on the helm with easily read analog gauges. The console is designed to accommodate today's state of the art electronics, including radar, GPS, fishfinder and communications.

A storage cabinet for binoculars, sunglasses and other necessities is located conveniently in front of the companion chair. Additional storage lockers and access panels line the bridge.

Lavishly lauded by the marine press, industry experts and successful captains, the fishability of the Cabo 35 does something far greater than simply garnering professional approval. It allows enthusiasts to focus on their passion for sportfishing, and do it with the greatest comfort and pride possible.

Pocket battlewagon.
The Cabo 35 Flybridge will get you to the fish, and raise them, like no other boat. It also gives you the pride of owning what you know to be the very best boat on the water. Nothing but a Cabo will give you that same feeling. Experience a Cabo today.

Engine room
Cabo's emphasis on the best engineering, materials and construction is immediately visible no matter where you look. However, it is perhaps most important in the engine room. You'll find that the mechanical space in the Cabo is truly an engineering marvel, and one with which even the most particular owner or captain will find no fault.

Lift the hatch in the salon that leads into the 35 Flybridge engine room. If it weren't for the big turbo-diesels, you might mistake it for a hospital surgical suite. Every inch of surface is finished in glimmering white gelcoat for easy clean-up. Equally important, unparalleled organization and layout means there isn't any component or system that can't be easily accessed for maintenance. Fuel lines are aircraft grade braided stainless steel for durability and every hose is double clamped for security. All wiring and plumbing is clearly labeled and are the same grade you might find in a jumbo jet.

Anything running through a bulkhead is protected from chafing with polymer or high grade solid rubber grommets. Need engine access? Main access is through a large hatch in the salon floor. Easily removable panels inside the cabin access the front of each engine, with the dipstick and coolant tank in easy reach. Quick access is also available through the hinged engine box covers located in the cockpit. Combined, these three access options mean you'll never complain again about engine maintenance. Simply put, no production boat anywhere has a better engineered engine compartment than a Cabo.
