HATTERAS YACHT 54

Fish the canyons in 15-footers, cruise the shallow shoals of the Islands, or relax in comfort with the family at the dock – all with the new Hatteras 54. Who says every boat has to be a compromise?

Sleek exterior styling features a rakish sheer line and flared bow. But the 54’s beautiful looks also herald a hull design that is truly revolutionary – designed specifically to deliver a smooth ride and excellent handling while operating at high speed. The convexity in the hull bottom helps make this hull immensely strong. The slight outward curvature (viewed from keel to chine) reduces impact accelerations and contributes to an incredibly smooth head-sea ride.

Traditional Hatteras double chines are incorporated into the hull design to provide additional spray deflection, with the added benefit of improved lift and tracking in heavy seas. A slight twist in the hull bottom, better defined as a variation of deadrise with length, provides flatter sections in the aftermost portion of the hull. These sections reduce resistance, improve handling at low speeds and increase transverse stability while planing. Thus, you can tackle head seas and the most challenging waters with confidence – and in comfort. But don’t forget the new 54’s shallow draft – this beauty draws just 4'2" of water. Imagine the new angling and cruising possibilities that will open up for you.

With a generous 17'3' beam, interior accommodations include three staterooms and two heads. The spacious salon/galley provides 195 square feet of living space with genuine wood interiors, custom L-shaped sofa and entertainment center. The fully equipped galley offers natural wood cabinets, four-burner cooktop, garbage disposal and under-counter freezer and refrigerator units. The microwave/convection oven is cleverly concealed by the cabinet door – continuing the expanse of rich wood from salon to galley without interruption. This handsome galley is also practical – the Amtico vinyl-strip flooring resembles teak but is almost effortless to maintain. In addition, storage is awesome with six 36-inch deep drawers.

While the 54 Convertible makes for an excellent platform for cruising enthusiasts, this boat was designed first and foremost to please offshore anglers.

The 126-square-foot cockpit features a mezzanine deck with raised seating to keep the crew comfortable and provide improved visibility of baits in the spread. Underneath those cushions lies storage for gear, bait, ice and tackle, as well as a centerline access hatch to the engine room below. An oversized transom door will accommodate the tournament winner, while an 80-inch fish box is positioned in the cockpit deck for quick access when the meat fish come calling.

A few steps up the portside ladder provides access to the 150-square-foot flybridge. The power-actuated helm offers a large, ergonomically placed platform for your electronics displays and keeps them well protected against theft and saltwater intrusion. The pod-style helm features electronic single-lever controls and is positioned for maximum visibility fore and aft. Forward of the helm lies an insulated drink box and two bench seats with rod storage below.

The 54's luxurious interior offers elegant comfort and relaxation. Her 195-square-foot salon features genuine wood interiors, a custom L-shaped sofa and entertainment center. Attention to detail is evident everywhere. Air conditioning is routed through slotted wood cornices extending the length of the salon and galley - both port and starboard. One-inch wood blinds complement this rich wood interior. Designed with your lifestyle in mind, the complete entertainment system includes a television, AM/FM "surround sound" stereo receiver with DVD/CD player and VCR. Relax, dim the adjustable lights and enjoy a movie or music at the end of the day.

The fully equipped galley offers natural wood cabinets, four-burner cooktop, garbage disposal, icemaker and under-counter freezer and refrigerator drawer units. The microwave/convection oven is cleverly concealed by the cabinet door - continuing the expanse of rich wood from salon to galley without interruption. This handsome galley is also practical - the Amtico vinyl-strip flooring provides the appeal of real teak but is almost effortless to maintain.

Galley storage is awesome with six exceptionally deep drawers. The chart flat area provides additional storage and is easily accessed via two cleverly designed deep drawers in the aft galley backsplash. Convenient, eye-level bulkhead access to this area offers even more storage opportunities within easy reach of the galley and dinette. Opposite and close at hand is the L-shaped dinette with more storage room below the seat.

The elegant master stateroom features a queen berth with cedar-lined storage underneath, air conditioning disbursement through fluted wood valances for uniform comfort and a concealed pocket access door for privacy. Bowed front wood nightstands and dresser enhance the rich architectural look while providing additional storage. The entertainment center includes an LCD screen TV and AM/FM stereo receiver and CD player. The private master head includes a stall shower with seat, solid surface countertops and easy-care Amtico vinyl-strip flooring. Once again, ample storage is provided by a bowed front wood cabinet, separate linen storage and a mirrored cabinet.
