This is an ultra-modern extremely high performance yacht.
The most modern high-tech materials were used in order to build the yacht as light as ever possible without sacrificing strength and finish.
The hull and deck are constructed from 100 per cent honeycomb Nomex sandwich. Even the interior was built in carbon and Nomex using only a fine wood veneer. Similar attention to detail was also used in the smallest aspects of the yacht. For example, most of the metal parts and lifeline stanchions were made in titanium, but polished to give the look of stainless steel.
The result was a 70ft sailing yacht that was light with a large sail area and ahigh ballast percent, this being 57% of the hull's total weight in the keel. This in turn gave enough power to take the yacht to speeds/ performance seen only in very few of the best racing machines in the world, but without loosing any of the comfort and high class interior which enabled very comfortable cruising indeed.
In order to achieve this we used materials and methods that are well beyond the standards seen in even the extreme times of yacht building.
Although built in 1997, the Baltic 70RP remains a very modern boat even today.
